The Orange Tree Theatre workshop
Posted on: 02/10/2024Today, Year 10 drama students were treated to an inspiring workshop delivered by The Orange Tree Theatre. The theatre’s team engaged students in an energetic, hands-on session designed to develop acting skills, foster creativity, and give them a glimpse of what it’s like to be part of a professional rehearsal process.
Alongside the workshop, The Orange Tree Theatre also announced an exciting opportunity for students aged 14-18: auditions for their BRAND NEW Young Company. This is an exceptional chance for young actors, both experienced and new to the stage, to get involved in a production as part of National Theatre Connections 2025.
The theatre is seeking individuals who love to thrive in a creative, playful environment. Whether you’ve acted before or are stepping onto the stage for the first time, what truly matters is your passion for the project and your eagerness to collaborate in creating an outstanding performance.
Over the course of seven months, the selected company will rehearse a brand new play, performing it twice: first at The Orange Tree Theatre, and then at the Lyric Hammersmith as part of a celebration of Youth Theatre. In an added thrill, a small number of companies will be chosen to perform at the prestigious National Theatre!
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their acting skills and experience professional-level performances. Year 10 drama students left today's workshop feeling inspired and excited to possibly be part of this incredible journey. If you are 14-18 years old and looking for a creative challenge, now’s your chance to audition!
